Technical committee will steer SATRA research

1 August 1999

SATRA is setting up a laundering and drycleaning technical committee with representatives from member companies to help steer its future fabric care research. The first meeting is scheduled to take place before the end of August.

“We have several projects under way, looking at both drycleaning and laundering issues,” says Richard Turner, SATRA’s deputy chief executive. “These range from fusible interlinings to optimum wash conditions for mixed loads of cotton and polyester workwear.

He added: “SATRA is funding the work for the benefit of its growing number of fabric care members because we need to ensure that the programme stays focused on meeting their needs.

“I believe this programme is the most wide-ranging on offer to the UK laundry and drycleaning industry—and it reinforces our position as the leading research and technology organisation for this sector.”
