Tony Johnstone

23 October 2001

Chris Shepherd, current advertisement manager of LCN said: " I shall always remember Tony as the person who gave me my first break into media sales back in 1969. ....

"Tony was a gentleman, always polite yet persistent in his sales approach, coupled with a great sense of humour. More than 30 years on, many of the qualities he taught remain with me today. ....

"I kept in touch with Tony on a regular basis after his retirement in 1981 and throughout this time he always wanted updating on the textile care industry......

"Tony belonged to a bygone era of salespeople and I will miss him greatly, as will his wife of more than 40 years, Thelma.

"With his naval background, it is a fitting tribute that Tony's ashes are to be scattered at sea"

A full obituary will appear in LCN's November issue.
