TRSA convention attracts positive feedback

11 November 2010

This was the first convention held since TRSA joined forces with the Uniform & Textile Service Association (UTSA) in 2008.

TRSA president Joseph Ricci said that delegates' comments had been very positive.

The combination of information-sharing and social opportunities struck the right balance for a TRSA convention and future events would follow a similar pattern Ricci added. “We are working hard to contract for dates and locations for 2011 and our 100th anniversary in 2012.”

Convention speakers included Todd Buchholz, former White House director of economic policy under George Bush senior.

At the TRSA's business meeting, Woody Ostrow was elected chairman of the association for a two-year term. Ostrow, who is president of CleanCare, a Pittsburgh healthcare and hospitality laundry, will drive TRSA to build greater visibility of the textile services industry in its primary business-to-business customer markets.

Ostrow is joined by 20 other members of the board of directors, four of whom serve on the executive committee of the board. They are Immediate past chairman Jeff Wright, G&K Services; treasurer Michael Potack, Unitex Textile Services; vice chairman Jim Doro, Doritex Corp.; and Thomas Vozzo, Aramark Uniform and Career Apparel.
