TRSA introduces Hygienically Clean Hospitality

The Textile Rental Services Association (TRSA) is extending its Hygienically Clean certification brand to verify processes and quantify outcomes of laundry service to hotels and other hospitality businesses.
TRSA says its Hygienically Clean Hospitality is the first such designation dedicated to the hospitality industry to be introduced to North America.
TRSA launched Hygienically Clean in 2012 with certifications for serving all businesses (generic) and Hygienically Clean Healthcare, later adding Hygienically Clean Food Safety and Hygienically Clean Food Service.
These introduced microbial testing of laundered items to North America as an important means of determining laundries' effectiveness in reducing soil to a level that poses no risk of infection.
Laundries must pass an initial inspection to be certified, and follow-up inspections every three years to be recertified. Three consecutive passes of an array of microbial tests are needed for initial Hygienically Clean certification; subsequently, such testing is repeated four times a year to maintain the designation.
