TSA launches Climate Change Agreement scheme

27 August 2009

TSA's CEO Murray Simpson says the agreement is “a significant result for the industry”. The scheme will provide laundry companies with an 80% CCL reduction on electricity bills for three years, potential early entry to a discount scheme on gas and exemption from the punitive Carbon Reduction Commitment.

However, with Government deadlines fast looming, he stresses that fast action is needed if companies wish to participate. TSA can only guarantee that the Government will process applications if they are received by the end of September 2009.

The TSA is contacting members with full details of the scheme including eligibility criteria, explanatory notes, timetable, guidance and an application form. Details can also be found on the TSA website (www.tsa-uk.org).

TSA is organising a technical seminar on Monday 7 September 2009 where experts from its consultancy company Enviros will talk members through the scheme and the application procedure. The seminar takes place at the Langton suite of the Hilton Leicester Hotel, at Braunstone, Leicester.
