TSA on track for autumn

David Stevens, CEO of the Textile Services Association (TSA) has just released his post-summer update on the upcoming activities of the Association. Lamenting the passing of a rather damp summer, he said: “During the summer I kept saying ‘we will do that in the autumn’, well it's definitely looking like a busy one.

“We are looking forward to our first overseas trip to Brussels where we will review the care home markets and visit an operator. We are also excited about the TSA Autumn Conference with over 150 delegates already booked. The new format certainly seems to be popular with the steering groups presenting on the first day.”

The conference takes place over 18-19 October at Hilton St George’s Park, Burton Upon Trent. “The whole event is designed to appeal to leadership teams and we believe the programme appeals to a broad spectrum. While day one provides all the latest news and key topics facing the industry with plenty of discussion opportunities, day two is the more traditional conference format focused towards motivating and inspiring your team for the challenges ahead," said the organisation.

The keynote addresses will be provided by Kate Nicholls, OBE, UKHospitality and Open Forum; Asifa Lahore, a drag artist pushing the boundaries of what it means to be LGBT, South Asian and Muslim. Asifa came into the national spotlight in 2014 when she was censored by the Birmingham Central Mosque from discussing Islam and homosexuality. This caused uproar in the British press and allowed Lahore the rare opportunity to speak openly on the topic; and Professor Sir Cary Cooper, 50th Anniversary Professor of Organisational Psychology and Health at the Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester. He is a founding President of the British Academy of Management, immediate past President of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development, former president of RELATE and president of the Institute of Welfare.

Well in time for the conference, the ‘Valuing Linen Guide’ and ‘Safe Point Delivery CoP’ in liaison with the Hospitality Round Table group has just been released.
