TSA president puts trade protection first

Taking office at the AGM, May 1 , Mr Oliver praised retiring president John Walters for helping the association grow stronger in a difficult year that saw fundamental change to its staffing and structure.

Looking forward, he hoped for consolidation and stability for the TSA, for it would be a tough and difficult year for the industry it serves with a fall in the consumer confidence so vital for both the laundry and drycleaning sectors. However, he felt the economy and industry were basically strong and had the right ingredients to grow.
