TSA wins extension for climate change discount scheme

7 April 2011

TSA says that this is an exceptional measure and is especially significant as it avoids the State Aids regulation, which has previously prevented the industry from receiving a discount on its gas charges.

As reported in LCN, TSA's Climate Change Agreement scheme has been confirmed to run to April 2013 and now laundries enrolled on the scheme qualify for the discount on both gas and electricity with immediate effect until the end of this present agreement.

The Government hasalso announced that new climate change agreements will be negotiated for the period 2013 to 2023 and when these agreements start the electricity discount will increase to 80%.
