Two buyers acquire Scotia Linen

9 October 2008

When completed, the deals will see Scotia Linen Services acquired by two separate buyers in two geographically distinct parts - Aberdeen and the North East, and Edinburgh and the East. The deals, which are for an undisclosed sum, are still subject to satisfactory completion of due diligence and final exchange of contracts. Due to commercial confidentiality, the preferred bidders cannot be disclosed at this point.

The deal for Aberdeen will secure 12 branches and 76 jobs whilst the deal for Edinburgh will secure the remaining facility and eight jobs

Iain Fraser said: “We are delighted that the vast majority of jobs are set to be saved by these deals as well as providing continuity of service to customers. There was a lot of interest in Scotia and we were pleased that everyone rallied around the business, which enabled us to accelerate the sales process.”
