UK linen and garments to go from Rentokil Initial

In a statement issued on November 30 2004 chairman Brian McGowan said the board believed the action would enhance the medium-term profitability and competitive position of the remaining parts of the business.



Peter Webster, MD Initial Textile Services says that the company intends to sell linen and garment businesses as a going concern


The board would also be looking at the options for the loss-making German hospital textiles business.

Commenting on the announcement, Peter Webster, managing director of Initial Textile Services, said that it was intended that the businesses would be sold as a going concern. He added that the roller towel and mats businesses woule remain with the Rentokil Initial.

He added that the company had pledged to keep employees, customers, and suppliers fully informed on all developments.
