Vision Support Services Group has opened a 60,000 square foot warehouse, which includes a showroom, close to its head office at Walker Industrial Park, in Blackburn, Lancashire.
The warehouse will serve all the group's companies, including Hilden, Liddell and Whitaker Services, and also its global sourcing business, Vision Assurance.
This three-story high building is large enough to accommodate future growth. It can house 8,000 pallets of stock and allows improved stock control processes. Equipment includes four new flexi trucks to help picking and packing.
The relocation project, which took more than three months to complete, was in response to increasing growth in customer orders and new contracts, as Vision and its brands continue to exceed targets and excel in a global marketplace, said Laurie Thomas, Vision managing director. He added that having the warehouse near the group's head office would make logistics and communication easier and the larger premises would improve the efficiency and speed of delivering orders.
