Wash powder disinfects too

19 November 2001

It is designed to kill a wide range of bacteria, including MRSA, ecoli and staphylococcus, at 40°C – “something never achieved before," says Springdawn.

The powder can be used on white and coloured fabrics including cotton, mixed fibres and synthetics. It is suitable for hard or soft water areas.

It is effective against gram positive, gram negative and variable bacteria, eliminating unpleasant odours and the bacteria that cause boils and sores often linked with the linen from hospitals and nursing homes.

To claim disinfection the product needed to pass tests carried out by the British Textile Technology Group (BTTG). The report which appears on Springdawn's website details the methods used.
