Wasted energy costs UK firms £1.1billion

17 December 2003

Action Energy's £3.6 million TV and Press campaign designed to try and reduce this waste has just completed its three-week run. (It started November 13 2003). Under the heading "British businesses' lost lifeblood" the campaign aimed to make businesses aware of the waste and what they can do to use energy efficiently.

At the start of the campaign, Action Energy director Garry Felgate said: "Energy is the lifeblood of British business. Without it a business could not operate. Even simple measures such as insulating a roof space or lowering office temperatures by 1C can significantly reduce heating bills. We hope that this campaign will drive many more small businesses to take action and save money."
