Director Bruce Fielden said Whitaker was attracted to Reebitex to expand its current NHS portfolio. “Buying the Reebitex brand and business will give us the opportunity to grow our client base and increase sales both within the NHS market and also other new markets.”

Whitakers, of Albion Road, Rochdale, is a main supplier of healthcare bedding and garments to industrial customers such as the MOD, HMP and various NHS Trusts. The company recently completed a 1,500 bed curtain fit for the Buckinghamshire NHS Trust.

It is the sole UK distributor for the Swedish company Boras Wafveri which is a highly respected international fabric manufacturer.
