Processing person-specific laundry can present a challenge. Now, WSP, the Netherlands-based developer of complete logistics solutions for industrial laundries all over the world, is meeting that challenge with its Care Home Concept. It uses UHF RFID chips, which are easily inserted into the laundry and enables the automated processing of person-specific laundry.

The Care Home Concept uses automatic soiled and clean sorting, for example, for both hanging and folded items. The unique identification of laundry makes it possible to create optimal batches that include laundry from different care homes.

A major benefit is the savings in labour costs – WSP claims that in practice, this can be as much as 25%. It also reports a significant reduction in the number of complaints from residents, by around 75%.

The system provides complete clarity about all laundry items being processed, and thanks to WSP System's unique role as a system integrator, can be integrated into almost every laundry facility.
