Xeros meets potential USA investors

3 March 2010

The purpose of the 2010 Clean & Cool Mission during February was to help UK companies explore how to succeed in the USA market and introduce them to Silicon Valley's venture capital investors.

A spin-out business from the University of Leeds, Xeros has developed a patented process that is said to save up to 90% of the water compared to conventional laundry systems by using plastic beads alongside detergents to absorb and remove dirt. The company last year signed a deal with GreenEarth Cleaning, the drycleaning business, to sell the machine initially to the commercial washing market across North America.

The Clean & Cool Mission was sponsored by the UK government-funded Technology Strategy Board, Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe, BP, the Cleantech Group, Arup, UK Trade & Investment, and Enterprise UK.
