The Clean Show in Orlando at the end of August was a prime opportunity to see what is now available in the world of on premises laundries (OPL). Of course, there is quite a crossover between OPL and coin-op requirements as often the same machine simply needs to have a coinop/ card payment option added and/or the technology to pay for use via Apps. The Internet of Things (IoT) is making flexibility so much easier. So, if we take a wider view than just looking at OPL, then please bear with us.

Danube landed in Florida with a selection of solutions designed to improve efficiency with connectivity. From machines for small businesses to advanced equipment for OPL and industrial laundries, and its impressive barrier washers for cleanroom laundries, IoT technology (connecting everyday devices to the internet) allows Danube machines to connect online, gathering key data to improve washing and drying.

Users are offered more control, with detailed reports on production, cycles, consumption, revenue, and more. The technology also ensures high-quality processes, guaranteeing hygiene and disinfection in every wash and dry cycle, says Danube.

All models are equipped with new ET2 microprocessor, with a 7” touch screen, allowing traceability control, data analysis and the possibility to display illustrative videos.

Domus fulfilled its mission at The Clean Show to highlight its OPL offerings with the theme also emphatically on connectivity and efficiency. DomusConnect IoT technology (connecting everyday devices to the internet) allows Domus machines to connect online, gathering key data to improve washing and drying times while managing the business remotely.

Whirlpool Corporation’s Maytag brand debuted a new lineup of multi-load washers and the new Advantage dryers. The new equipment lineup, with washer sizes up to 85 pounds, and dryer capacities up to 120 pounds, provides high-capacity, highefficiency solutions for both vended and on-premise (OPL) laundry environments, says Maytag.

“Our new multi-load line reflects what commercial laundry operators have been asking for: reliable, durable equipment built to satisfy market demands,” says Michael Ledford, senior director and general manager, commercial laundry. “Whether designing a Maytag equipped laundry or outfitting an OPL facility, our goal is to provide solutions that meet the daily requirements of commercial laundry operations.”

The new multi-load washer lineup provides the flexibility and performance operators need, whether managing a busy laundromat or a highly structured OPL operation. Available in capacities up to 85 pounds, the 200G in rigid-mount models and up to 360G in soft-mount configurations help improve throughput and reduce dry times.

The newly available Advantage dryers, with capacities up to 120 pounds, are designed for high-volume, high-traffic laundry environments. Designed to complement the new washer line and provide an end-to-end Maytag solution, these dryers offer advanced performance and operational efficiency, says Maytag.

Maytag also demonstrated innovations for specialised textile cleaning needs with a powerful lineup of commercial laundry solutions from Whirlpool Corporation, including a speciality drying cabinet for firefighters’ uniforms and an industrialstrength dryer for on premises laundry (OPL) operations from American Dryer Corp (ADC) – a Whirlpool brand, as is Maytag. The ADC firefighter’s turnout gear drying cabinet (ADFG) is purpose-built for fire houses and is designed to safely dry up to six full sets of turnout gear, coats, pants, gloves and boots without tumbling.

Drum Roll: Domus focused on its DomusConnect IoT technology

With directed airflow, independent dual heating systems and customisable microprocessor controls, it ensures thorough drying while helping preserve the protective qualities of PPE. Optional accessories like glove- and boot-hangers round out this essential station support tool.

Meanwhile, the AD-210 industrial dryer has been engineered for highvolume OPL in hospitality, healthcare and beyond, offering, said Whirlpool, durable construction, a 14-gauge stainless-steel basket, self-cleaning blower system and advanced airflow technology for faster drying and fewer maintenance concerns. With flexible configuration options and gas or steam heat, this dryer meets the demands of busy OPL environments headon, said the company.

Girbau focused on improved efficiencies, connected automation and user-friendly operation with the new version of its Genius laundry management system, the expandedcapacity Genius washers and the intelligent award-winning Sortech sorter. The products provide solutions for professional and selfservice laundry businesses.

Genius XL washers, which expand the Genius range with high-capacity models – available in 40, 57, and 110 kg versions. The entire range now features Genius 3.0, an upgrade that enhances connectivity and introduces new functionalities such as remote updates, customised programme and screen management, and daily reports without the need for additional systems, making it easier to optimise consumption and maintain operational control.

The company will also showcase industrial equipment such as the CompactPro folder and ironer, the DRE automatic feeder.

As for Alliance Laundry Systems, under the aegis of CEO and director Mike Schoeb, there were a couple of significant new launches to inspect at The Clean Show.

The stack 55-pound tumbler, 10% larger than the competition (based upon the average size of the largest stack dryer offerings from top competitors) and Alliance’s largest brings two 55-pound capacity drying pockets, eclipsing the company’s popular 45- pound stack, while occupying the same height and width.

The stack 55 is the perfect match for the laundromat trend of larger capacity washer-extractors. Owners increasingly are adding more 60-, 80- and even 100-pound capacity washer-extractors to meet customer demand. That comes with the need to add drying capacity, especially during peak periods.

Alliance Laundry Systems additionally launched a cashless payment technology that doesn’t require an app download. Scan-Pay-Wash removes the friction points (and expenses) of bolt-on credit card readers as well as the need for customers to download an app and give up personal information. The feature is a first for the laundry industry, says the company.

Direct Drive: LG Commercial showcased its new direct-drive top-load washer

With the new feature, laundromat customers need only scan a QR code posted on the machine, pay using their credit card or mobile payment source, and start the machine. It also gives customers the option to sign up for the app to start receiving rewards, but waits until after the transaction is completed.

The new features are available for Gold Tier Speed Queen Insights and Huebsch Command customers.

LG Electronics USA showcased frontload washers, dryers and combo units designed for use in multi-family housing, student dormitories, laundromats and more which are available now through leading US commercial laundry service providers, including CSC ServiceWorks, WASH and EVI.

For demanding high-volume workloads of busy commercial laundry environments, such as hotels and hospitals, the company also previewed the 2026 LG Professional Laundry line for the US market.

New balancing technology coming in future LG Professional Laundry products will enable the laundry drum to be spin stable at speeds of up to 1,100 RPM while reducing vibrations, enhancing water extraction and shortening cycle times. Another innovation is the dual action heat exchange system that will help ensure fast, even drying by efficiently transferring heat to fabrics, said LG.

Leveraging its expertise in connected smart appliances for the consumer market, LG is demonstrating ‘Laundry Crew 3.0’, a connectivity solution that provides an integrated interface that connects store managers and end users, enabling realtime product monitoring and coordinated support.

On top of all that innovation, LG has recently partnered with Rinse, a leading provider of laundry and drycleaning delivery services throughout North America

For laundromats, LG unveiled a new series of top-load washers built on the direct-drive motor technology pioneered by the company. The 27-inch high-efficiency top-loaders, coin- and card-operated models incorporate LG’s trademarked advanced Inverter Direct Drivemotor.

The result, says LG, is premium performance, durability and efficiency. Perfected by LG over the past two decades, the direct-drive motor system is covered by a 5-year limited warranty.

Superior durability and reliability are top considerations for businesses, landlords and schools deploying commercial washers and dryers, according to Sam Kim, president of appliance solutions, LG Electronics USA. “With LG’s reputation for quality, these new top-load washers, as well as their popular front-load cousins and their companion gas and electric dryers, are well positioned to serve the dynamic US vended market,” he said.
