Get synchronized

The key to feeding and folding efficiently is perfect synchronization

According to Kannegiesser the variety of textiles to be processed is constantly increasing, as are quality and flexibility requirements. At the same time, more intense competition requires the minimisation of production costs. When it comes to feeding, “The new SynchroPro series will adapt to all these challenges. It combines performance, process stability and quality to create a perfectly harmonious feeding process without compromise,” says Kannegiesser.

Kannegiesser has updated the SynchroPro range with ‘SwiftCare’which refers to the improved net performance of the SynchroPro and Care indicaftes the improved care, handling and precision for each individual laundry item.

“In the new SynchroPro, SwiftCare combines uncompromising feeding performance, safe item transport and edge quality for the highest precision. This is made possible by the four innovative key points of SwiftCare,” says Kannegiesser.

  • The innovative design of the synchro clamp enables reliable fast spreading, releasing and depositing of a wide variety of articles. Thick or thin, small or large, polyester or 100% cotton? It doesn’t matter! The large, wide-open clamping area defines the process entry and is fast and gentle on the linen.
  • The driving force of Servotronic combines servo electronics, servo drive and sensor technology to achieve higher acceleration and ensures transport precision as well as process stability. Operators won’t have to wait for the next item, resulting in shorter process time.
  • The swivelable bar means faster feeding process with ideal depositing and tension for a wide range of articles. Its lift function ensures the highest edge quality on the market. With the swivelable bar, the leading edge gets into the feeder with perfect quality. The item is elegantly picked up, gently laid down without overspreading and fixed with the strong vacuum without a clamping bar.
  • The 5-fold vacuum power gives five times higher vacuum force which synchronises the transfer and clamping bar-free article guidance.

Whether the items are heavy or light, the vacuum gives maximum support and the improved article transport is faster and more reliable than ever before. The all-new Synchro Pro and its Swiftcare feeding principle directs the feeding process piece by piece towards a perfectly synchronised symphony. The outcome is always a true harmony between swift performance and careful linen treatment – without compromise.

Jensen offers solutions including the new Express Pro feeder will double the PPOH in laundries processing laundry from the healthcare, hospitality, and food and beverage sectors. It’s a cornerless feeding system that excels at high speeds. A mechanical transfer beam with a leading edge holding bar replaces the vacuum section. In the receiving position, the holding bar is open while the leading edge is held between the transfer beam and a fixation tube. During the transfer, the holding bar is closed, ensuring a fast and efficient transfer into the machine. As a consequence of the high capacity, the number of ironer lines may be reduced allowing to free up space for other equipment.

A simplified version is offered with the new KliQ feeder that features a new generation of feeding clamps – a masterpiece of operator convenience. This simple and space-saving solution is available with a Concorde-shaped nose for direct feeding, eliminating the need for an inlet table on the ironer. Both feeders stand for high and uniform finishing quality and high productivity.

The KliQ and Express Pro feeders can be combined with the new Kando folder, also a much-wanted innovation for laundries serving the healthcare, hospitality and food & beverage sectors.

Building on the DNA of the Jensen folder range, the Kando incorporates fully adjustable air blast pressure in the lateral folding section and reversing conveyors in the cross fold section, ensuring optimum folding quality for all types of flatwork. Inverter controlled motors in the lateral-and cross fold section allow the folder to follow the speed of any ironer.

Jensen’s MetriQ with a unique buttons- to-the-front feature, enables the efficient loading of garments with openings on the back, such as patient gowns and scrubs.

The Domus Libra terry towel folder allows you to fold up to an average of 800 pieces/hour. It is easy to use with a PLC with 20 predefined programmes and 79 settings, a control panel with touch screen and multiple languages.

It automatically classifies up to four different sizes of linen.

Girbau’s DRE and DRC automatic feeders are designed to widen the company’s feeder portfolio range, adding new performances. “It’s important to highlight, in particular, our new patented cornerless feeding system, which brings new cutting-edge technology that will allow our customers to improve production with lowest operational cost. The DRE and DRC have been built to take into account safety, reliability, productivity and technology,” says Girbau.

Meanwhile, Girbau’s recently launched Compact PRO all-in-one ironer, is a result, says the company, of its determination to provide a response to space or accessibility issues in laundries that need an ironing system ready to cope with high throughputs. Compact PRO allows five different functions to be fitted into a single machine, at a speed of up to 25 metres per minute: feeding, drying, ironing, folding and stacking. The development makes it possible to fit a professional ironing system into a very small space, just 20 m2.

Perhaps an all-in-one solution for businesses that are short on space could be the answer. Domus Compact flatwork ironer SP is a laundry ironer/folder that complements Domus’ high production calenders. These compact machines enable high production of up to 290 kg/hour.

SP models incorporate a precise longitudinal folder, that allow up to two longitudinal folds to be made in two completely independent working lines. These folds are made using a system of photocells and compressed air, ensuring perfect folding of the items. This is one of the most advanced industrial ironing machines in our entire catalogue,“ says Domus’ Gemma Colomer. Optional specifications for these machines are:

  • Automatic 1 lane clamp feeder with vacuum feeding belts
  • Small pieces back collector: 2 or 4 lanes
  • Vacuum table to help linen feeding
  • Linen reject system
  • Double air pressure in length folds for thicker linen
