Netherlands-based Vega Systems celebrated its tenth anniversary by opening its third factory

Laundry equipment manufacturer Vega Systems celebrated its 10th anniversary last November with an open house exhibition at its headquarters in Oss in the Netherlands.

The independent family-owned company marked the occasion by opening its third factory, expanding the production space to 10,800 square metres with an additional 2,800 square metres of office space.

The company now employs over 40 skilled engineering and support staff and thanks to the efforts of the owner Ad van Geffen and his management team, Vega continues to make strong progress in the design and manufacture of laundry machinery.

The three-day event attracted around 600 visitors. Vega’s worldwide dealer network and end-user customers had an opportunity to see the full range of feeders, ironers, folders, towel folders, pickers, washers, dryers, trolley-washers and conveyors.

The company had several of its latest developments on show. These included the Transfeed/Robofeed high-speed feeding system. The high-speed one- or two-lane Vega Transfeed is capable of feeding 1,200 – 1,500 pieces an hour.

This was combined with Vega’s Robofeed, which is capable of feeding 450 – 500 sheets an hour per station.

The Vega Selectfeed-Trio Feeder is an automatic three-station feeder for the high quality processing of sheets, duvet covers and table linen using a servo-controlled spreading and laydown system.

Also on show was the Multifold Select French-fold towel folder for length and cross folding of towels with automatic sorting.

The additional manufacturing unit was built in response to demand from the company’s growing overseas markets, which now include the USA, Asia, Brazil and Australia.

In addition Vega planned to open two more factories from 1 January. Vega Systems China to serve China and Vega Systems USA, which will serve only North America.
