Christeyns, a UK market leader within the commercial laundry market, last week hosted its national Laundry Business Unit Conference. This annual conference provides the opportunity for Christeyns staff to look back at 2017 and reflect on the successes and challenges but also to set the scene for the coming year. Key issues such as industry trends, the impact of Brexit and exchange rate fluctuations were discussed, as well as looking at the laundry industry on a global scale.

Over 50 staff travelled from across the UK and Ireland to attend the conference, also joined by Christeyns head office colleagues from both Bradford and Europe. Industry specialist Siobhan Gibbons from Jacobs spoke to the attendees about water and energy savings and the industry’s climate change agreement along with details of progress being made in this area, the UK Umbrella agreement and benefits for members.

The conference programme also included interactive workshops and health and safety updates.

With a continued focus on the environment and the challenges of producing innovative solutions, Christeyns is at the forefront of its field, constantly seeking to provide laundry chemicals and systems that offer the best cleaning results whilst also reducing operational costs and protecting the life span and quality of the linen.

“Conferences such as this are essential for the success of the commercial division, providing opportunity to talk to and learn from other colleagues,” comments Dave Aveyard, operations director. “Christeyns sales staff gain a deeper understanding of all the latest product and industry developments as well as insight into what will be the key issues for our customers over the coming year.”

The one day event concluded with a group dinner at Piccolino in Ilkley.
