Announcing its results on 25 February, the company said that adjusted profit before tax for the year ending 31 December 2010 rose by 6% to £97.1million with revenue up by 2% to £986.1million.

The company reported good volume growth in its UK hotel and healthcare linen business, with adjusted operating profit up by 16% to £41.2m.

Adjusted operating profit for the Nordic region rose by 12% to £57.3m and in Continental Europe by 2% to £33.5m.

“We expect a good performance in textile maintenance in 2011 where we anticipate some modest improvement in our markets, coupled with increasing economic stability,” said Berendsen’s chairman, Christopher Kemball.
