Textile and laundry service provider Berendsen was awarded a Silver Award for environmental best practice at the recent Green Apple Awards 2014.
The awards held recently at the Houses of Parliament recognise, reward and promote environmental best practise around the world.
Berendsen was recognised for its accomplishments in reducing the environmental impacts associated with its operations. This was achieved by strong investment in energy and water saving equipment and processes, as well as efforts to improve transport efficiency and to reduce the use and disposal of detergents across its linen and laundry operations.
As a result, Berendsen has significantly reduced its energy consumption and carbon emissions since 2008, as well as cutting its water usage by almost 30%.
