TSA and the Department for Energy and Climate Change met on Monday 26 January to discuss the industry’s case for a discount.
Simpson reports that TSA has made good progress on some of the hurdles but has been briefed that obtaining the EU approval will be extremely difficult. He says that the industry’s case was well received by officials as was its continued efforts to urge its case since 2001.
The offer to commit to reduce energy consumption by 6% on 2008 levels by October 2010 has been taken under advisement.
TSA will be briefing its members and plans to hold a training day in the near future to help both members and non-members complete their applications.
