The Worshipful Company of Launderers is again offering travel scholarships through its Launderers Education Trust Fund Travelling Scholarship. Applications must be in by 20 February 2015.
Four scholarships are available and each successful candidate will receive a grant of up to £1,000 towards the cost of subsistence and travel for a four-day tour of Germany to visit selected laundry and drycleaning businesses this spring.
The scholarship is open to senior supervisors and trainee/junior managers who can demonstrate their ability and experience within the industry.
After the tour candidates will be expected to produce a 1,400-1,500 word written report, suitable for publication, on the innovations and examples of best practice they have seen. It should explain how these could be introduced in their own organisation and in the wider UK industry.
If no suitable applicants are found, the scholarship will be held over.
