Laundry Efficiency has won the Ethical Green business of the year at the Federation of Small Business regional awards for the West Midlands. Commercial director Graham Oakley said that the company picked up the award after hearing how the judges were impressed at the way in which Laundry Efficiency’s commercial laundry ozone technology is helping to reduce the carbon footprint of laundries across the UK.

Laundry Efficiency, based at Hednesford, provides commercial laundries across the UK with a natural based product and service which is significantly reducing their carbon footprint, said Oakley. “As a result of deploying our technology, one of our customers saw their carbon footprint drop from 78 tonnes of carbon per calendar month to 13 within a 1-year period. That’s a reduction of a whopping 84% and in addition to this carbon footprint reduction, the customer also reduced their monthly gas bill from £8,000 per month to £5,000 per month and have seen a significant drop in their waste water usage.”

West Midlands FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards 2018 took place at The National Conference Centre, Birmingham on Friday 16 March 2018, where Master of Ceremonies and BBC broadcaster Dave Sharpe announced the winners. Ray Hickinbottom, FSB West Midlands regional chairman, said: “Congratulations to all this year’s West Midlands FSB Celebrating Small Business Award winners. It’s been thrilling to see so many of the region’s businesses enthusiastically take part in our awards and the sheer scale and diversity of those who entered is a testimony to the vitality of the small business community in the West Midlands. The best of luck to all our winners for the UK national award finals in May.”
