Leisure chain LA Fitness is installing Miele Professional’s Little Giant commercial washers and dryers at its new-build clubs in the UK.
Each centre handles around 200 towels a day and with Miele machines installed, the clubs can now do their laundry in house, rather than contracting it out.
The in-house operation can wash towels at a cost of around 4p per towel.
The Little Giant machines are available in 5kg or 6kg sizes, making them suitable for operations needing smaller machines that can still cope with a high throughput.
Les Marshall, marketing and sales director at Miele Professional, points out that the brand’s Profitronic technology is a further advantage in such applications as the washers can be supplied with programs specific to the customers’ needs.
