Facemasks from BC Softwear, the family-run company that has been supplying luxury towels, bathrobes and footwear to the hospitality sector for almost 20 years, is proving a hit with UK laundry businesses.

“The impact of Covid 19 has been understandably difficult. Many of BC SoftWear’s customers were forced to close their doors and the company needed to react quickly,” said a spokesperson for the company. “BC SoftWear is a small business, therefore agile, and has developed a reputation for being able to respond quickly to customers’ needs. It wasn’t long before a few customers were enquiring about the possibility for BC SoftWear supplying face masks. Following a quick customer survey to establish demand, the company removed all the stops to design and deliver a high quality and exceptional value face mask that their customers in the hotel, laundry and spa sectors could rely upon.”

The Swiss Group laundries (Swiss and Camplings) are avowed fans of the face masks. Craig Saunt, production and engineering director at Swiss, wrote to BC Softwear: “The masks you have supplied are very good, thank you, and have now become our mask of choice.”

The washable mask is made from 100% natural cotton and composed of three layers. The outer and inner layers are made of cotton with a protective synthetic fabric middle layer, which provides improved breathability and protection from moisture and droplets. The mask helps to provide a level of air filtration.

The mask has a soft wire to make it more fitted to wear, and more comfortable. Fabric is 100% soft cotton in a neutral colour, Soft Grey, with a seamed edge. The middle protection layer is made from a non-woven bonded fabric to help with air filtration and the mask has black adjustable, elasticated ear loops and is a generously sized 21 cm x 14cm.

BC SoftWear has spent considerable time and investment in its company sustainability programme, launching of the new SmartSoft* energy saving range at the end of 2019. The company has been keen to ensure that they continue this important philosophy by providing masks that can be repeatedly washed and reused. The recommended washing temperature is 60C.  Single trade price is £2.40 each with a pack of 100 units priced at £1.95 each and the product is available from stock.

*SmartSoft is the collection of energy saving bathrobes, towels and spa linen designed by the company to provide sustainable, responsible and luxurious towelling products with 70% energy savings, (independently proven by the Laundry Technology Centre.
