Sue works as secretary to Laundry and Cleaning News’s advertisement manager Chris Shepherd but also takes responsibility for other functions within the department, including reprints.

Of her achievement, Sue says: “I clearly have publishing in my blood! In 25 years I have witnessed a great many changes in the industry. I realise 25 years in one job is a long time but it really doesn’t feel like it because my role has expanded during this time.

“I particularly enjoy manning the LCN stand at the variety of overseas exhibitions I have been fortunate to attend. I enjoy travelling and meeting different advertisers and readers and putting a face to their name”

Sue joined Power Laundry and Cleaning News, LCN’s forerunner as advertisement manager’s secretary after a similar post with another publishing house, EMAP.

Later she combined this role with work on a sister publication Laundry and Cleaning. Sue became heavily involved in the launch of LCN in January 1979 and moved with the journal when Wilmington Publishing acquired it in 1997.
