The Textile Rental Services Association of America has released the results of two surveys that identify opportunities for textile services companies to improve and increase their services, particularly with regard to uniforms.
The surveys covered the healthcare hospitality and restaurant markets and questioned both business decision makers and consumers. These found that 82% of the businesses and 86% of the consumers questioned said they preferred to see employees wearing uniforms, as they gave a better image and encouraged trust as well as identifying the worker.
The surveys also found that:
– Almost half of all healthcare workers now clean their uniforms at home
– Two-thirds of the consumers questioned said they were concerned when they saw healthcare staff wearing uniforms outside their place of work.
– One in three hotels would prefer to outsource textile services but cannot find a provide
– Over 50% of high-end and frequent diners were prepared to pay more to eat at restaurants that used table linens.
Joseph Ricci, president of TRSA, released the results on the opening morning of the Clean Show in Atlanta. The surveys were carried out earlier this year by opinion researchers Fabrizio Ward.
