Chris Shepherd said, “The first supper was an enormous success. An evening meeting of the Whitsters Club was a departure from the normal luncheon format and those that attended had a lot of fun and importantly, the event raised a considerable sum of money for the Launderers Benevolent Fund.
“Regrettably we have been unable to proceed with the second charity supper. The Club must cover the expenses involved and this was never going to be possible with the number of guests that had confirmed their attendance. LCN had fully publicised the event and I should also like to thank the Textile Services Association for their generous support. The Worshipful Company of Launderers also backed the supper.”
