TRSA rewards excellence at annual industry event

NORTH AMERICAOn 10 April, individuals and companies were honoured by their peers for outstanding achievements in specialised categories related to their digital, safety, educational, inclusionary and operational pursuits. In total 11 award categories were presented to 60 member companies and individuals, each of whom had received nominations from their peers or customers. The awards were distributed during TRSA’s Industry Awards dinner at the association’s 14th Annual Legislative Conference in Washington. DC NOVO Health Services’ Miami facility, pictured, took top honours with the TRSA Plant of the Year award.

Over 15 co-hosts for CINET PTC World Congress 24

INTERNATIONAL“As a result of intensive communication, 15 National Associations committed themselves to be a co-host of the upcoming CINET PTC World Congress 24, 8-9 November at Texcare International in Frankfurt, Germany,” said. Cinet, which is confident the original focus on 30 National Associations will be surpassed. National Associations and organisations from the USA, China, India, Indonesia, Brazil, Japan, Canada, Germany, Africa, Greece, The Netherlands and others have committed to act as a co-hosts and participate in the event. In total more than 60 countries are expected to attend.

CDC to study benefits of reusable healthcare PPE after TRSA push

USAThe TRSA, the textile services association for North America, continues to campaign strongly for reusable healthcare PPE to be the preferred option across the USA and has received feedback from a congressional letter sent to the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The reply contained encouraging and not-so-encouraging content, according to a news report from the TSA.

Love Laundry Awards winning care homes named

Sveriges Tvätteriförbund convenes in Stockholm in May

TSA reaches out to the industry for help for Ukraine

UKWith the sad situation continuing in Ukraine, the Textile Services Association (TSA) has been approached by a team of volunteers at 'We Help Ukranians' who are collecting donations to be sent to Ukraine. Anzhela (Angela) is a volunteer who is helping coordinate donations and has asked the TSA to spread the word and enable more donations to be made for some essential items.

TSA Roadshows launch: ‘We need to talk about laundries’

Everyone involved in the commercial laundry industry, TSA members and non-members alike, is invited to the TSA Roadshow events which will be held in regional cities. The Roadshows are intended to be an informal forum/open evening, where businesses can network and find out about the latest ideas over drinks and a buffet.

Aramark to cast off uniforms in publicly traded spin-off

USAA report published by TRSA, the North America linen rental trade association, in a recent newsletter reveals that plans are afoot to separate Aramark Uniform Services (AUS) into an independent, publicly traded company. The structure of the transaction is intended to be a spin-off that is tax-free to Aramark and its stockholders. The company currently expects the spin-off to occur by the end of fiscal 2023, according to a news release.

The pandemic and its ongoing consequences have been tough for commercial laundries. They had to navigate a business landscape where many of the regular customers they relied on shut down or greatly reduced their requirements for cleaning textile products.
