TRSA HR, Health, and Safety Summit empowers professionals

TRSA, the leading association for textile services professionals, recently concluded its annual HR, Health, and Safety Summit in Milwaukee. Professionals from both human resources and health and safety fields gathered for a day of intensive professional development, aimed at enhancing their skills and knowledge. The event featured educational sessions tailored to each field. The summit kicked off with a welcome session led by Joyce Marter, mental health thought leader and author of ‘The Financial Mindset Fix’.
A right royal result for Barker warrants celebration

Dorset based Barker Laundry & Dry Cleaning has today received the King’s Warrant, which is a Royal Warrant of Appointment granted as a mark of recognition to people or companies who have regularly supplied goods or services to the Royal Household. The Buckingham Palace announcement follows a review of companies granted royal warrants by the monarch when he was the Prince of Wales.

The European Textile Services Association (ETSA) Congress 2024, 2-3 May in Prague, was a particularly special event as ETSA celebrated its 30th anniversary. It is also European Parliament election year, a subject that was not lost among, but rather complementary to other presentations designed to explore the sector’s essential role in shaping a sustainable, green, and digitised economy for the EU and beyond.
TRSA launches Hygienically Clean certification customer portal

TRSA, the linen rental trade association for North America, has launched a new Hygienically Clean certification portal as part of the ‘Hygienically Clean Certification Program Enhancement Initiatives’. Hygienically Clean certified plant representatives may now use the portal for all Hygienically Clean certification activities.
TCATA hails success of annual management and educational conference

The Textile Care Allied Trades Association (TCATA) held a successful Annual Management and Educational Conference over 28 April– 1 May at The Omni Barton Creek in Austin, Texas which brought together industry leaders for a dynamic exchange of ideas and insights. During the conference, TCATA president John Silverman installed Mack Magnus of M & B Hangers as its new president, marking a new chapter of leadership under his guidance.
TRSA Midwest Summit and Plant Tour turns heads

TRSA, the leading association for the textile services industry in North America, recently concluded its second Regional Production Summit and Plant Tour event. Held in collaboration with WATS (Wisconsin Association of Textile Services), the summit aimed to enhance quality programmes and accessibility for all members by bringing them together at a central location within their region. The event took place on 1-2 May in Milwaukee.
OCS flying high with British Airways
UK
British Airways boasts the UK’s second-largest fleet and passenger base and since 2013, OCS has been handling its soft service needs and providing laundry services to the company for more than 25 years. Following a competitive tender process, OCS originally secured the contract to deliver soft services such as porterage and front desk support to British Airways sites across the UK. Over the past decade, OCS has consistently been the chosen soft services provider, receiving multiple contract extensions.

The European Textile Services Association (ETSA) Congress 2024, was a particularly special event as ETSA celebrated its 30th anniversary and at the same time served up a feast of presentations designed to explore the sector’s essential role in shaping a sustainable, green, and digitised economy for the EU and beyond. Delegates gained insights into the EU Green Deal and the Climate Pact, and how they influence the industry, as well as offering an unrivalled opportunity to network with industry leaders, innovators and peers. They also heard of ETSA’s considerable achievements in raising the profile of the industry in the past two years since the last congress was held in Rome.

TRSA rewards excellence at annual industry event

On 10 April, individuals and companies were honoured by their peers for outstanding achievements in specialised categories related to their digital, safety, educational, inclusionary and operational pursuits. In total 11 award categories were presented to 60 member companies and individuals, each of whom had received nominations from their peers or customers. The awards were distributed during TRSA’s Industry Awards dinner at the association’s 14th Annual Legislative Conference in Washington. DC NOVO Health Services’ Miami facility, pictured, took top honours with the TRSA Plant of the Year award.
