Funding received from Royal Bank of Scotland has allowed Cathkin Clean Scotland to continue to support the increased demands from the NHS in recent weeks, according to a story in the Daily Record.

Cathkin Clean Scotland, based in Kelvin Industrial Estate, East Kilbride, provides commercial laundry, drycleaning and linen hire services to a cross-section of essential industries throughout Scotland. The laundry has been operating since 1894 and counts NHS Scotland and NHS Lanarkshire among its clients.

Cathkin – a subsidiary of Aberdeen Laundry Service (ALS) – had mothballed its hospitality sector working because of social distancing measures implemented in response to the coronavirus outbreak affecting the hospitality industry.

Now, the funding received from Royal Bank of Scotland has allowed the company to continue to support the increased demands from the NHS in recent weeks. It has also enabled the company to retain staff members based at the temporarily closed hospitality sites and begin preparations to re-open post-coronavirus recovery period.
