Whirlpool Corporation is reaffirming its long-term commitment to its commercial laundry business with the appointment of Michael Ledford as senior director and general manager, Commercial Laundry, effective since 1 May. This strategic move brings added leadership strength and focused expertise to an already robust team, says Whirlpool.
Ledford will report to Luis Lopez, vice president and general manager of North America Laundry (residential and commercial) and will be responsible for guiding the Commercial Laundry team’s strategic direction, growth initiatives and day-to-day operations.
This appointment enhances the continuity and strength of Whirlpool’s Commercial Laundry leadership, while reinforcing the company’s dedication to delivering reliable, innovative solutions to its partners and customers across the commercial laundry industry.
The following key leaders will report directly to Ledford:
Amy Gardner, director of Sales, Service and Parts
Andres Palomino, director of Engineering
Dan Smodic, director of Product & Brand Marketing
Matthew Newfield, senior manager, Merchandising & Operations

Ledford brings more than 20 years of experience at Whirlpool Corporation, having held roles of increasing responsibility across product management, category analytics and merchandising. His tenure includes more than a decade of direct or supporting experience in the laundry category. He is also a named inventor on multiple patents, including innovative laundry solutions for pet owners.
Whirlpool’s brands include Maytag Commercial Laundry, ADC, and Whirlpool Commercial Laundry.
