The Textile Services Association (TSA) is offering laundry owners and managers a chance to get ahead of new regulations applying to The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER). The Association’s one-day overview of PUWER Regulations to be held 19 November in Uxbridge, Middlesex, is designed to enable laundries to gain a clear understanding of both the legislation and your responsibilities as a user and/or builder of machinery.

The regulations require that equipment is safe, suitable, maintained, inspected and installed correctly. PUWER also requires that equipment is used only by competent people when it is safe to do so.

Delivered by Dave Bromme CEng MIET, DJB Machinery Safety Compliance, the course will cover businesses’ obligations in order to meet the legal requirements of the Regulations. The course will outline the timing of the PUWER inspections and what they should contain. You will gain a better understanding of the PUWER Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) and how this can help you meet your legal obligations.

The course is course is part of the TSA Technical Training and is open to members and non-members alike. Cleck here for more information.

Prior to the PUWER Course, there will then be a two-day Laundry Technology Course, Flat Linen on 17-18 November, also in Uxbridge. If you would also be interested in attending this course, more information can be found here!
