As US President Donald Trump muddies the waters of trade and supply chains with his tariff debacle, causing general global unrest and uncertainty, news come in that the ‘Shaping Our Future with Standards’ day organised by the Textile Services Association (TSA) will be held on 10 June in Birmingham.

“We will explore ways to use British, European and international standards to the advantage of our industry in light of the changes that are going to impact our operations, customers, and suppliers,” explained TSA CEO David Stevens.

“The global value chain we participate in is changing quicker than ever before, making an impact on our quality deliverables and the commercial aspects. It is high time for us to explore what good looks like and we look forward to discussing the industry strategy with you. This will be an exciting and relevant day for both large and SME laundries.

“We will be joined by guest speakers from Germany, Brussels, and colleagues from BSI, who will be at the centre of these changes in addition to plenty of opportunities to network with the laundry industry colleagues.

“[The event] is not primarily aimed at laundry technical experts, but for our industry in general, as standards impact the day-to-day operations in a laundry a lot more than we care to admit,” said Stevens. Who should attend?  Quality, production, purchasing, technical and engineering teams together with senior management in laundries with a focus on standards implementation, said the TSA.
