The 35kg, 12 compartment tunnel washer has been chosen for its environmental advantages: 33% water savings and a reduction in effluent. It will be used to process flatwork for the plant’s customers which include Cambridge University colleges.

Deputy managing director, Graham Turner commented “At OCS Smarts we are generally looking at reducing the effects of our processes on the environment. Wherever we can, we cut consumption of gas, electricity and water.”

Similar machines have already been installed at Smart’s Manchester and Hackney plants.
